Understanding how a business is performing usually means pulling numbers from a dozen different tools, reconciling definitions, and rebuilding the same report before anyone can decide what to do next. Databox brings that data into one place, adds the metrics and business context needed to understand it, and uses AI to handle more of the recurring analysis and reporting. The result is a shorter path from data to a decision — for you, your team, or (soon) an AI agent acting on your behalf.

Databox is built for the people accountable for business performance — marketing, sales, and operations leaders, agencies reporting to clients, and the teams who support them. Rather than treating data, reporting, and analysis as separate tools you stitch together yourself, Databox connects them in one platform: your data, the metrics built on it, the context that explains it, and the AI capabilities that turn all of it into an answer or a finished report.
Databox connects to 100+ integrations spanning advertising, analytics, CRM, e-commerce, cloud warehouses, and databases, so you're not manually exporting numbers from each platform. For data that doesn't come from a supported integration, connect a spreadsheet, query a database directly, or send data via API.

Raw data isn't a metric until someone defines what it means and how it's calculated. Databox gives you prebuilt metrics for common integrations, plus a metric builder for creating custom and calculated metrics, so every Databoard, report, and Genie answer pulls from the same trusted definition instead of a one-off calculation someone reconstructs each time.

Numbers alone don't tell you whether performance is good or what to do about it. Goals and OKRs give your metrics a target to measure against, and Genie builds up memory and business context from how your team works and what it cares about, so its answers reflect your business rather than generic analysis.

Genie is Databox's AI analyst. Instead of building a query or a visualization by hand, describe what you want to know in plain language — Genie finds the relevant metrics or dataset rows, analyzes them, and answers with the reasoning behind the result. Genie can also build Databoards, create metrics, and set up goals directly from a conversation.

Recurring reporting is where most of the manual effort piles up — the same weekly summary, the same Monday check on a metric. Routines turn any Genie task into a job that runs automatically on a schedule or when triggered by a webhook, then delivers the results by email or Slack without anyone having to ask again.

Databox MCP lets you connect AI assistants like Claude, ChatGPT, and Gemini directly to your Databox account, so you can query metrics, pull dataset rows, and trigger supported actions using natural language without leaving that assistant. It's built on the same permissions as the rest of Databox, so an assistant only sees what the authenticated user is already allowed to see.

Databoards turn your metrics into live dashboards using Datablocks — configurable visualizations like line graphs, pie charts, and progress bars — and can start from one of hundreds of public templates instead of a blank canvas. When you need a polished, shareable document instead of a live dashboard, build a report that combines Databoards, visualizations, and text into a single narrative.

Alerts and scheduled notifications flag metric changes and goal progress without you having to check a Databoard yourself, and anomaly detection surfaces unusual behavior a fixed threshold would miss. For deeper analysis, forecasting projects where a metric is headed, and correlation and comparison views help explain why a change happened, not just that it did.

Databox is extending these same capabilities to agents that act on insights directly — using the same data, metrics, and business context as your team — to carry out recurring work and next steps under your oversight. This is coming soon; today, Genie and routines handle the analysis and reporting, while you and your team decide and act on it.
FAQ
Can I use Databox in a language other than English?
The Databox app itself is English-only, but several areas let you customize the displayed text or work in your own language. The AI Summary visualization has multi-language support built in, and visualizations like Notes and Data Story let you write your own custom text. Reports support the same kind of custom text content, and Genie responds in whatever language you use in your prompt.
Can I use Databox without connecting any integrations?
Yes. You can bring in data through a spreadsheet, a database connection, or the API instead of a native integration. Genie, routines, and reporting all work the same way regardless of how your data gets into Databox.
Does using Genie cost extra?
Genie conversations draw from your account's shared AI credit pool. See Understanding AI credits for how much your plan includes and how to add more.
