Personalize Genie to your business

Without context, Genie answers as a generalist: a marketing team asking "how are we doing" needs leads and CAC front and center, while a finance team asking the same thing wants cash flow and margins. Personalizing Genie means you set that context once instead of repeating it in every conversation, so daily check-ins and deeper planning sessions alike get answers built around what your business actually tracks.

Personalize Genie

Genie's personalization settings are available under Agentic Analytics > Customize > Personalization. You can set preferences that shape how Genie approaches questions and formats answers, add business context describing your goals and key metrics, and review the memory Genie has built up from your conversations.

Set preferences

Under Preferences, choose:

  • Analyst type — Shapes how Genie approaches your questions, from quick answers to deep analysis.
  • Output length — Controls how much detail Genie includes in its responses.

Add business context

Under Business context, describe your business in two fields:

  • Business goals and objectives — What your business is working toward, such as revenue growth, customer growth, new markets, or cash flow.
  • Key metrics focus — The metrics that matter most to you, such as MRR, churn, CAC, LTV, or conversion rate.

Each field allows up to 1,000 characters. Click Save to apply your changes. Genie factors this context into future responses, such as which metrics it highlights or how it frames an analysis.

Review Genie's memory

Genie builds memory automatically as you use it — you never have to tell it to remember something. Two kinds of memory feed into your conversations:

  • Things Genie learned about you — durable preferences and facts it picked up while working with you, such as that you keep asking about MRR by region or how you like answers shaped. These are listed in the Memory section, newest first, so you can see exactly what Genie knows.
  • Summaries of recent conversations — a short summary Genie generates when a conversation ends, so your next chat can build on it. These summaries aren't listed individually, but when Genie draws on one it tells you, for example by saying "based on our previous conversation…"

Memory is private to you: nothing Genie learns about you is visible to teammates, and nothing carries over between accounts. If memory can't be loaded for some reason, Genie doesn't slow down or show an error — your answer just arrives without that extra context. Repeating yourself doesn't create duplicate entries, and a new preference that contradicts an old one replaces it rather than sitting alongside it. If you're new to Genie, this section starts out empty and fills in as you chat.

Click the trash icon next to any entry to delete it. Removing an entry doesn't undo past responses, but Genie stops factoring it into future ones.

Click ellipsis and select Delete all to clear everything at once — every learned preference, every conversation summary, and the conversation history behind them. Your next chat with Genie starts completely cold, as if you were a brand-new user.

FAQ

Can I add to Genie's memory manually?

Not directly. Memory entries are created automatically based on your conversations with Genie. To add a preference, state it clearly in a chat or explicitly ask Genie to remember it.

Does updating my preferences change past responses?

No. Preferences, business context, and memory only affect how Genie responds going forward, not conversations that already happened.

What's the difference between business context and memory?

Business context is what you enter directly, such as your goals and key metrics. Memory is what Genie infers on its own from your conversations. Both shape how Genie responds.
