Adobe Analytics is an enterprise digital analytics platform that helps organizations measure and analyze customer interactions across websites, mobile apps, and other digital channels. It provides detailed insights into user behavior, content engagement, marketing attribution, and conversion performance. Businesses use Adobe Analytics to understand how users interact with their digital properties, evaluate the effectiveness of marketing efforts, and make data-driven decisions to improve customer experiences and business outcomes.

Connection

Before you begin

If your credentials don’t include full access to the data source, make sure your access level meets any permission requirements listed in the Specification section of the integration's page in the Metric Library.

Step 1: Create API credentials in your Adobe Developer Console

Databox uses OAuth Server-to-Server credentials to securely authenticate your Adobe Analytics connection.

Follow Adobe’s official guide to generate a Client ID and Client Secret in the Adobe Developer Console.

After creating the credentials, copy and store them securely. You will need to enter them in Databox in the next step.

Step 2: Enter credentials in Databox

After generating your API credentials in the Adobe Developer Console, add them to Databox to establish the connection.

  1. Paste the Client ID from your Adobe Developer Console into the Client ID field.
  2. Paste the Client Secret into the Client Secret field.
  3. Click Connect.

Step 3: Select a Company

Adobe Analytics organizations can include multiple companies. Each company represents a separate analytics environment with its own configuration and report suites.

Select the Company you want to connect from the list.

Step 4: Select a Report suite

A report suite is the container that stores your Adobe Analytics data. It defines the dataset from which metrics and dimensions are retrieved.

Select the Report suite Databox should use to retrieve metrics and dimensions.

Metric Builder

The Adobe Analytics integration allows you to create custom metrics using the metric builder, ideal for visualizing data not included in the basic metrics offered by the integration.

To create a custom metric, start by selecting a metric from the “Metric” selector. Next, customize your metric by optionally adding a dimension and applying one or more filters.

The available selector values in the Adobe Analytics metric builder are retrieved directly from your Adobe Analytics account based on the selected report suite. When you open the builder, Databox requests the list of available segments, dimensions, and metrics for that report suite using the Adobe Analytics APIs. This includes both standard metrics and any calculated metrics defined in your account. If you select a dimension that supports classifications, Databox retrieves the available classifications so you can refine how results are grouped. When a metric is configured, Databox uses the selected metric, dimensions, segments, and other options to build a report request and query Adobe Analytics for the aggregated results.

Frequently Asked Questions

Why are certain entities or properties unavailable in the metric builder?

The metric builder pulls analytics data from Adobe Analytics' APIs. If an entity or property is missing, it is likely due to limited API support or technical implementation restrictions. If there's something you'd like to see included, feel free to submit a request on our Roadmap, so we can consider it for future updates to the integration.
