# Delete a dashboard

Dashboards accumulate — a client offboards, a campaign ends, a draft gets replaced by a better version. Leaving them in place makes the Dashboards page harder to scan and risks someone reporting from a view nobody maintains any more. Deleting is reversible for 30 days, so clearing out what you no longer use carries little risk.

## Delete a dashboard

1. Go to [Dashboards](https://app.databox.com/databoards).
2. Hover over the dashboard you want to remove and click the **three dots** (![ellipsis](/assets/ellipsis.14d1f073796737618cda317e9f526ea5d9aab1a0c66a7e5c5bcaa9c067c85fd0.419bb737.svg)).
3. Select **Delete**.
4. Read the confirmation dialog, then click **Delete**.

You can also delete the dashboard you're currently editing: in the Designer, click the **three dots** (![ellipsis](/assets/ellipsis.14d1f073796737618cda317e9f526ea5d9aab1a0c66a7e5c5bcaa9c067c85fd0.419bb737.svg)) in the toolbar and select **Delete**.

## Delete dashboards in bulk

1. Go to [Dashboards](https://app.databox.com/databoards).
2. Select the checkbox on each dashboard you want to remove.
3. Click the **drop-down arrow** (![chevron-down](/assets/chevron-down.929b2744de04a93191d6d985439945494abf6248d02439c1d23f78b03eaf9a2d.419bb737.svg)) at the top of the screen and choose **Delete**.

Use the filters above the list — **Owned by**, **Created by**, **Data source**, and **Tags** — to narrow the page to the dashboards you're clearing out before you start selecting.

## Affected content and recovery period

The dashboard moves to **Recently deleted** and stays recoverable for 30 days. It no longer appears in the default list, and anyone you shared it with can't open it. After 30 days it's removed permanently.

Restoring the dashboard brings back the dashboard itself — but not everything that referenced it. These are removed the moment you delete, and restoring doesn't put them back:

- **Loops, reports, and home widgets** — the dashboard is taken out of all of them.
- **Notifications** — every notification related to the dashboard is deleted, including scheduled snapshots.

Restoring a dashboard doesn't undo everything. You'll need to add it back to each loop, report, and home widget, and set up its notifications again from scratch.

## Find and restore a deleted dashboard

1. Go to [Dashboards](https://app.databox.com/databoards).
2. Open the **Show** filter and select **Recently deleted**.

From here you can restore dashboards individually or in bulk. For the full procedure, see [Restore a deleted Databoard](/restore-a-deleted-databoard).

Yes, as long as you have access to it. If you'd rather keep the dashboard but hand it over, use **Change owner** from the **three dots** (![ellipsis](/assets/ellipsis.14d1f073796737618cda317e9f526ea5d9aab1a0c66a7e5c5bcaa9c067c85fd0.419bb737.svg)) menu instead.

No. Deleting a dashboard removes only the dashboard and its layout. The underlying metrics, data sources, and synced data are untouched and remain available for other dashboards and reports.

The template is unaffected. Templates are stored separately, so you can still create new dashboards from it after the original is gone.
