Google is officially sunsetting Universal Analytics on July 1, 2023
- Google Analytics 4 is the recommended replacement. Due to the differences in tracking logic used in Universal Analytics vs Google Analytics 4, historical data will not transfer from one to the other.
- Because of this, it's important to get Google Analytics 4 set up as soon as possible in order to start accumulating data in this new system.
There is a 10,000 row limit on how much data can be accessed from Google Analytics's API for each Metric. By default, the Metric Sort Order in Databox is set to Descending, meaning the 10,000 results with the highest Metric values are returned from Google Analytics and stored in Databox. For the majority of Google Analytics Metrics (like "Sessions," "Pageviews," "Clicks," etc.), higher Metric values are indicators of success, so these first 10,000 rows are sorted appropriately.
However, there are Metrics where lower Metric values indicate success, such as "Bounce Rate." For Metrics like this, the Metric Sort Order should be set to Ascending, so the 10,000 rows of data retained are sorted appropriately.
