Transfer account ownership

Learn how to transfer account ownership smoothly when roles change, ensuring continuity and security, with support available if the owner has left.

Transferring account ownership is often necessary when someone new is replacing a colleague who has left, ensuring they have access to essential resources. Similarly, if you are leaving the company, transferring ownership to a successor ensures a smooth transition and maintains account security and continuity.

Only the current account owner can transfer ownership to another user. If the current owner has left your organization, please have an account admin reach out to us at help@databox.com to assist with the transition.

 Transfer account ownership

  1. Navigate to Account Management > Company Information
  2. At the top, under Account owner, click Change owner
  3. Select the user you want to transfer ownership to
  4. Click Save to initiate the ownership transfer.
  5. Check your email inbox for a message from Databox.
  6. Follow the instructions in the email to confirm the ownership change.

For security purposes, the ownership change must be confirmed within 30 minutes. If not completed within this timeframe, you'll need to restart the process in the app.

loudspeaker Warning: Once confirmed, your role will be instantly changed from owner to admin, and you won't be able to reverse this action or select a different user.
