How does data update when copying a Databoard to a Client Account?

In order to access data from a Data Source's API, Databox makes calls to specific endpoints. The same endpoints are always used to access the same data from a Data Source.

When you copy Databoards to Client Accounts, you're not copying the data itself but rather information on which endpoints you want to sync data from. Once you accept the Databoard(s) in your Client Account, Databox will make API calls to the specified endpoints for this Account in order to repopulate the Databoard with your Client's data.

For example, the endpoint for "Sessions" from Google Analytics is the same for every Google Analytics Account. If you create a Custom "Sessions" Metric and use it on a Databoard, Databox will access "Sessions" data from the same endpoint for every Client Account that the Databoard is copied to.

Similarly, the endpoint(s) for "Clicks by Campaign" from Facebook Ads is the same for every Facebook Ads Account. Therefore, if you create a Custom "Clicks by Campaign" Metric and use it on a Databoard, Databox will access the data from the same endpoint(s) for every Client Account that the Databoard is copied to.

Pro Tip: Some Custom Metrics built through Metric Builder will not be retained when copying a Databoard. Learn more here
