Guide: Using SurveyMonkey with Databox

How to connect SurveyMonkey to Databox

How to connect SurveyMonkey to Databox

To connect a SurveyMonkey Account in Databox, go to  Data Sources > + New connection. Type SurveyMonkey in the search bar and click on the green Connect button.

This will open the  Authorization window, which is where you will be prompted to enter your SurveyMonkey login credentials and authorize the Databox app.

How much historical data is synced when you first connect SurveyMonkey to Databox?

When you connect a new SurveyMonkey Data Source in Databox, 90 days worth of historical data is synced for the "Created Surveys" Metric. No historical data is synced for other SurveyMonkey Metrics upon connection.

Certain Metrics may have more or less historical data available. For more information about the amount of historical data available for a specific Metric, please contact our Support Team at help@databox.com.

Pro Tip: Once your SurveyMonkey Data Source is connected and actively syncing data, we store the data that's collected in our own database. This allows us to accumulate more data over time as more data syncs are made so that you can report on more historical SurveyMonkey data in your Databox reports. Learn more here

What time zone does SurveyMonkey data sync in?

SurveyMonkey data is synced in UTC.

Why am I being asked to upgrade to a paid plan?

If your Public app uses scopes tied to paid plans, any accounts attempting to authenticate without the necessary plan will be asked to upgrade in order to proceed.

How to access pre-built SurveyMonkey Templates

  1. Navigate to Databoards > Public Templates
  2. In the Data Source drop-down list, select  SurveyMonkey
  3. To view a preview of the Template populated with dummy data, click Preview
  4. To pull the Template into your Account and re-populate it with your own SurveyMonkey data, click Use Template
  5. Select the appropriate SurveyMonkey Data Source from the drop-down list to complete the process. The Databoard will be re-populated with data from the selected SurveyMonkey Account and can be found on the  Databoards page

Pro Tip: Once the Databoard is available on the Databoards page, it is completely disconnected from the public Template. Therefore, you can further customize this Databoard to meet your specific needs using the Designer.

Additional Information

Metric Considerations

  • Daily totals are not available for SurveyMonkey Metrics, with the exception of "Responses by Survey Title." Instead, the total current value of these Metrics will be visualized cumulatively. No historical data is available from before the initial connection.

Integration Considerations

  • We are able to access data for the latest 100 surveys from Survey Monkey.
  • We are able to collect 50k results total for all of your Survey Monkey data. If you have more data in your Survey Monkey account, we are not currently able to sync it with Databox.
