What's the maximum amount of historical data initially available when you use a new Matomo Data Source Metric in Databox?

Data is synced for the Metrics that are being used in your Account, so when you first use a new Matomo Metric, the maximum amount of historical data available is 36 months.

For more information about the amount of historical data available for a specific Metric, please contact our Support Team via live chat or at help@databox.com.

Pro Tip: In order to start syncing data for a Metric, you can add it to your Metrics screen, use it in a Scorecard, set a Goal around it, create an Alert for it, or add it to a Databoard. Learn more here.

The amount of historical data you're able to access in Databox is dependent on your Databox plan. Learn more here.

What time zone does Matomo data sync in?

Matomo data is synced in UTC. You can also select your own time zone set in the Matomo Account.

Pro Tip: If multiple time zones are selected in the Matomo account, you won’t be able to connect. It is therefore recommended that you should only select UTC in your account, so the data can sync with Databox.

How often does Matomo data sync?

All Matomo Data Sources will sync every hour with Databox. Learn more here.

Metric Considerations

  • Due to technical limitations, the Metric “Unique Visitors” will show the big number on top of the metric for only the first interval. This means that it is not possible to view a “Total” number for a date range on the top of the metric. However, if you will display this metric on a Line chart for example, you will be able to view data for each day separately.
  • Due to API limitations, you can only retrieve up to (top) 100 custom dimensions. Learn more about this in their official documentation here

If the desired dimensions (dimensions that do not have any values displayed) are not in the top 100 based on unique page views, no values are displayed because we get nothing via API.
