How to connect LinkedIn Company Pages to Databox

To connect a LinkedIn Company Pages Account in Databox, go to Data Manager > + New connection. Type LinkedIn in the search bar and click on the green Connect button.

This will open the Authorization window, which is where you will be prompted to enter your LinkedIn Company Pages login credentials and authorize the Databox app.

Pro Tip: You need to have "Super Admin" page role in your LinkedIn Account, in order to connect a LinkedIn Company Pages Account in Databox

If they don't have this role, then you can ask a colleague who has the "Super Admin" page role, to connect the Data Source for you by following steps outlined here.

What's the maximum amount of historical data initially available when you use a new LinkedIn Company Pages Metric in Databox?

Data is synced for the Metrics that are being used in your Account, so when you first use a new LinkedIn Company Pages Metric, the maximum amount of historical data available is 36 months.

Certain Metrics may have more or less historical data available. For example, metrics that represent the total metric value (i.e. ''Followers'', '' Total Impressions'', etc.) do not have historical data available when first used. We only pull in the total current value, but we will accumulate historical data for these Metrics in Databox over time and the metric value will be shown cumulatively.

For more information about the amount of historical data available for a specific Metric, please contact our Support Team at help@databox.com.

Pro Tip:  In order to start syncing data for a Metric, you can add it to your Metrics screen, use it in a Scorecard, set a Goal around it, create an Alert for it, or add it to a Databoard. Learn more here.

The amount of historical data you're able to access in Databox is dependent on your Databox plan. Learn more here.

What time zone does LinkedIn Company Pages data sync in?

LinkedIn data is synced in UTC.

Why is my LinkedIn Company Pages Data Source disconnected?

LinkedIn connections are established using tokens. LinkedIn sets its tokens to expire after 60 days. This means that every 60 days, your LinkedIn Data Source will be disconnected. Learn more here.

In order to reconnect your LinkedIn Data Source, navigate to Data Manager and click the Reconnect button next to your LinkedIn Data Source.

Additional Information

API Limitations

  • Due to changes imposed by LinkedIn, you may see changes in the LinkedIn campaign and reporting metrics if you have active campaigns targeting members residing in the European Economic Area (EEA)* and Switzerland. You might notice fewer conversions, lower audience sizes, and changes to ROI. You can learn more about this here.

Metric Considerations

  • Due to technical limitations, the Date Range ''All Time'' will return a maximum of 36 months of historical data.
    • However, Metrics that represent total values (i.e. ''Followers'', ''Total Likes'', etc.) will always show the current total value when ''All Time'' Date Range is selected.
  • For the following Metrics, a maximum of 12 months of historical data is available from the API:
    • Page Updates by: Impressions, Clicks, Interactions, Comments, Likes, Shares.
  • Due to an API limitation, the following Metrics only reflect data for the 100 most recent posts/updates
    • Total: Updates, Impressions, Clicks, Interactions, Comments, Likes, Shares
    • Page Updates by: Impressions, Clicks, Interactions, Comments, Likes, Shares
    • Updates, Engagements
  • The Metric “Followers” provides values reflecting the overall LinkedIn following. The values for Dimensional Metrics like "Followers by Geo. Area, by Function, by Industry, by Seniority, and by Company Size”, may not be an exact match to the “Followers” count. This is because LinkedIn's users can have multiple countries set up, multiple job positions, or can work in multiple companies (or be unemployed) therefore, each follower can be counted once, multiple times, or not counted at all.

Granularity Restrictions

  • Due to API limitations, hourly granularity is not supported. This may affect visualization options for Charts in Databox.
    • For example, if a LinkedIn Company Pages Metric is used on a Line or Bar Chart with ''Yesterday'' Date Range selected, hourly data won't be displayed on the Chart.
However, the big number above the Chart will accurately reflect the Metric value for the selected Date Range.
      Learn more about Granularity here
