# Delete a dataset

You may want to delete a dataset if it is no longer needed or contains outdated or incorrect data. Removing unnecessary datasets helps keep your account organized and ensures that only relevant data is available for reporting. You might also delete a dataset if it was created for testing, is a duplicate, or includes sensitive information that should no longer be stored. Keeping your datasets up to date improves data accuracy and can help optimize account performance.

## Delete a dataset

You can delete a dataset from your account in several locations:

- [Data Manager > Data Sources](https://app.databox.com/data-manager/connected)
- [Data Manager > Datasets](https://app.databox.com/data-manager/datasets)
- [Account Management > Data Manager > Datasets](https://account.databox.com/data-manager/datasets)
- Dataset view page

To delete a dataset, locate it in one of these sections, open the options menu (by clicking the **down arrow** (![chevron-down](/assets/chevron-down.dfd0e90adc6eb576be32262463090aae7c7f5408ed7975e3795f69775e36d174.419bb737.svg)) or ...), and select **Delete**.

Dataset deletions cannot be reversed, and all synced data will be permanently lost. Only proceed if you are certain that you won't need any of this data in your Databox account in the future.
