# Delete a connection

Deleting connections in Databox is crucial for maintaining security and efficiency. Whether removing outdated connections or managing access, this process ensures that only active connections remain. Understanding how to properly delete connections helps keep your account organized and secure, preventing unauthorized access and data issues.

## Delete a connection

Connections can only be deleted in the Account Management section by the user who added the connection or an account admin. If you have the necessary permissions:

1. Navigate to [Account Management > Data Manager > Connections](https://app.databox.com/data-manager/connections).
2. Find the data source you want to delete in the list.
3. Click the down arrow button and select **Delete**.
4. Type "DELETE" in the input box to confirm and proceed.

Deleting a connection will also remove all data sources linked to it, irrespective of who added them. This will result in the permanent loss of all associated data. Only proceed if you are certain that you won't need any data from that integration in the future.
