Copy a Databoard to another account

When you've built a Databoard that works well for one client, copying it to another account saves you from starting from scratch. This is useful for onboarding new clients quickly, sharing a polished reporting layout as a starting point, or giving a client ownership of their own version that they can customize independently — without affecting your original.

TipTip: For structured, scalable reporting across multiple accounts, Account Templates are the recommended approach. They let you push layout updates to all connected Databoards at once. Use the copy feature for ad-hoc situations.

Send a copy

  1. Navigate to Databoards.
  2. Switch to the account you want to copy from, if needed, using the account switcher in the top-left navigation.
  3. Hover over the Databoard and click the ... icon.
  4. Select Copy to client account.
  5. In the dialog, select the destination from the Select client dropdown, or enter the destination's Account ID directly.
  6. Click Send copy.

When copying from a client account back to your agency account, select Copy to agency account from the ... menu instead. No destination selection is needed — click Send copy to proceed.

NoteNote: The copy isn't transferred immediately — it stays pending in the destination account until an admin accepts it. Any changes you make to the original Databoard while it's pending will be included when the copy is accepted.

Accept a copy

When a copy is sent to an account, a notification appears on the Databoards page in that account.

  1. Switch to the destination account.
  2. Navigate to Databoards. A pending Databoard notification will be shown.
  3. Click Accept.
  4. Connect the appropriate data sources from the destination account to populate the Databoard with data.
  5. Click Accept to complete the process.

NoteNote: No data is transferred with the copy — Databox re-syncs the same metrics using the destination account's own connected integrations. Once accepted, the copy is fully independent of the original; changes to either Databoard don't affect the other.

FAQ

Can I copy multiple Databoards at once?

Yes. In the list view on the Databoards page, select multiple Databoards using the checkboxes, then use the Copy to client account action to send them all to the same destination in one step.
