How to report on Campaign Performance

You may want to report on Campaign performance from your Facebook Ads Account. This includes viewing data on "Impressions," "Link Clicks," "CPC," etc. for a specific Campaign or list of Campaigns.

Campaign Performance Metrics

You can use Basic or Custom Metrics to report on the performance of a specific Campaign or list of Campaigns. 

The Basic Metrics that are available all have "by Campaign" in the Metric name. These include "Amount Spent by Campaign," "Clicks (All) by Campaign," and "Reach by Campaign."

To view a list of these Metrics, navigate to  Data Manager > Metrics in Databox and select Facebook Ads from the Data Source drop-down. Type "by Campaign" in the Search bar to filter out all "by Campaign" Metrics. 

In order to view the performance of a single Campaign from your Account, you'll need to set your Datablock up in a way that prompts you to select a specific Dimension (Campaign). Learn how to select a specific Campaign on a Datablock here

Custom Metrics can also be created to report on the performance of a single Campaign using the Query Builder for Facebook Ads (Ads Reporting).  

    Query Builder is available in Plus and Business Accounts. Agency Basic Accounts have access to Query Builder in the Agency Account only. Request a trial of Query Builder by following these steps.
If you want to report on the performance of a single Campaign, it's recommended you use the Dimension "Campaign Name" in the Filter. This will allow you to specify the individual Campaign you want to sync data for. 
Pro Tip : If you don't know which Filter to put in place, use the Dimension + Data Preview to troubleshoot and get more insight into the data that is returned from your Facebook Ads Account for each field. Learn more here.
If you want to report on Impressions for your Campaign called "Product Launch," you can build the following Custom Metric:

If you want to report on the performance of all Campaigns, it's recommended that you use the Dimension "Campaign" in the Dimension field rather than the Filter.

If you want to report on Impressions for all of your Campaigns, you can build the following Custom Metric:

How to report on Ad Set Performance

You may want to report on Ad Set performance from your Facebook Ads Account. This includes viewing data on "Impressions," "Link Clicks," "CPC," etc. for a specific Ad Set or list of Ad Sets. 

You can use Basic or Custom Metrics to report on the performance of a specific Ad Set or list of Ad Sets. 

The Basic Metrics that are available all have "by Adset" in the Metric name. These include "Amount Spent by Adset," "Clicks (All) by Adset," and "Reach by Adset."

To view a list of these Metrics, navigate to  Data Manager > Metrics in Databox and select Facebook Ads from the Data Source drop-down. Type "by Adset" in the Search bar to filter out all "by Ad Set" Metrics.

How to report on Custom Conversions

You may want to report on custom conversions from your Facebook Ads Account. This can be accomplished using Query Builder for Facebook Ads (Pixels)

How to report on Total Ad Spend

You may want to report on the aggregated spend from multiple Data Sources, like Google Ads, Facebook Ads, and LinkedIn Ads. This can be accomplished using Data Calculations.  

    Data Calculations is available in Plus and Business Accounts. Agency Basic Accounts have access to Data Calculations in the Agency Account only. Request a trial of Data Calculations by following these steps.
