How to connect Harvest to Databox
To connect a Harvest Account in Databox, go to Data Sources > + New connection. Type Harvest in the search bar and click on the green Connect button.
This will open the Authorization window, which is where you will be prompted to authorize the Databox app.
In order to connect a Harvest Account to Databox, you must have "Team," "Invoices," "Expenses," and "Timesheet" modules enabled in Harvest. If these are not accessible, you will receive an "Unauthorized" error.
How much historical data is synced when you first connect Harvest to Databox?
When you connect a new Harvest Data Source in Databox, 25 months worth of data is initially available.
Certain Metrics may have more or less historical data available. For more information about the amount of historical data available for a specific Metric, please contact our Support Team at help@databox.com.
What time zone does Harvest data sync in?
Harvest data is synced in the time zone set in the Harvest Account. For example, if your Harvest Account time zone is set as EST, your Harvest data will sync with Databox in EST.
If you update the time zone or first day of the week in your Harvest Account, this could result in duplicate data in your Databox Account.
How to access pre-built Harvest Templates
- Navigate to Databoards > Public Templates
- In the Data Source drop-down list, select Harvest
- To view a preview of the Template populated with dummy data, click Preview
- To pull the Template into your Account and re-populate it with your own Harvest data, click Use Template
- Select the appropriate Harvest Data Source from the drop-down list to complete the process. The Databoard will be re-populated with data from the selected Harvest Account and can be found on the Databoards page
Pro Tip: Once the Databoard is available on the Databoards page, it is completely disconnected from the public Template. Therefore, you can further customize this Databoard to meet your specific needs using the Designer.

Additional Information
- In order to connect a Harvest Account to Databox, you must have access to "Team," "Invoices," "Expenses," and "Timesheet" modules in Harvest. If these are not accessible, you will receive an "Unauthorized" error.
- When updating entries in Harvest, data will be stored in Databox based on the date the entry was created, not the date set in Harvest.
- If you have renamed a Project in your Harvest Account, you will see the old Project Name and the new Project Name in Databox until the old Project Name is outdated. For example, if you changed a Project Name from "Red" to "Blue" on June 15 and it is currently July, you will see "Red" and "Blue" Projects returned for "Last Month" (June), but only the new Project Name ("Blue") for "This Month" (July) in Databox.
