The First day of the week setting defines how Databox calculates weekly date ranges and groups data when using weekly granularity. Different countries and cultures follow different week conventions, and many companies adopt their own reporting standards. Aligning this setting with your regional norms or internal reporting structure ensures your weekly reports remain consistent across teams and data sources.

Set the first day of the week

By default, Sunday is set as the first day of the week. This means weekly date ranges and weekly granularities run from Sunday through Saturday unless you update this setting.

To change the first day of the week:

  1. Go to Account Management > Company information.
  2. Under Account settings, locate First day of the week.
  3. Select your preferred starting day.
  4. Click Yes, change in the confirmation prompt.

attention-1Caution: Changing the First day of the week may limit access to previously stored historical data for metrics with limited historical availability. From the day of the change, Databox stores data using the new week structure. Reverting to the previous setting restores access to earlier historical data.

Considerations

Before updating this setting, review the following:

  • Weekly date ranges (for example, “This week” or “Last week”) will follow the selected starting day.
  • Metrics displayed using weekly granularity will be recalculated based on the new week structure.
  • Some data sources provide predefined weekly values. If their week definition differs from your account setting, totals may not align.
  • Some metrics have granularity limitations and only support specific time groupings. These limitations are listed in the Metric Library.

Frequently Asked Questions

Does this setting affect daily or monthly data?

No. This setting only affects week-based date ranges and weekly aggregations. Daily, monthly, quarterly, and yearly granularities are not impacted.

Is this an account-level setting?

Yes. The selected first day of the week applies to all content in the account.
