Why can't I connect my Data Source?

There are a variety of reasons why you may be unable to connect a Data Source in Databox. The inability to connect could be linked to the user who is attempting to connect the Data Source, the plan that you have with the Data Source, or your browser's settings.

YOU MAY BE UNABLE TO CONNECT A DATA SOURCE DUE TO

Insufficient privileges

HOW TO

How to interpret this error

This happens when the user that connected the Data Source in Databox doesn't have the necessary privileges in the Data Source itself. Since Databox gains access to your data through this user, it is imperative that they have the necessary permissions.

For example, HubSpot Marketing users often don't have full access to the "content scope" in HubSpot's API. The content scope includes Blog, Email, and Landing Page data. To ensure you have full access to your HubSpot Marketing data, it is recommended that a user with Super Admin permissions connects the HubSpot Marketing Data Source in Databox.

If you're unable to get the necessary permissions, you can connect your Data Source by following these steps.

How to interpret this error

The happens when the plan that you have within the Data Source itself does not include API access. If Databox is unable to access the API, we're unable to sync, store, and display your data.

For example, only Enterprise, Unlimited, Developer, and Performance Edition Salesforce CRM Accounts have API access. Contact, Group, and Professional Edition Salesforce CRM Accounts do not have API access and cannot be connected in Databox. Learn more here

Browser settings

HOW TO

How to interpret this error

Browser settings may influence the connection process in a variety of ways.

For example, if you have a Facebook password saved in your browser, when you attempt to connect a Facebook Data Source in Databox the Account may be auto-selected.

Further, ad blocking or popup blocking software installed in your browser may prevent windows from opening that are needed to log in and authorize the Data Source connection.

How to resolve this error

If your browser is influencing the connection process, it's recommended that you re-connect the Data Source in an incognito window or using a different browser.
