Submitting a Template to the Template Directory
Submitting a template to be added to the template directory is a simple process that benefits all parties involved. We're proud to have partners with unique and efficient reporting strategies, and we want to share that with the rest of our users.

What's in it for you?
We believe in giving credit where credit is due, so all published templates have an "Author" listed that will state your company name, logo, and an accompanying URL. We get about 2,000 signups to Databox every month, so this is a great way to get your name out there.
Furthermore, we provide the opportunity for submitters to include a link to relevant articles that they have written on the subject. By including this link with your template, you'll generate more traffic to your site and potentially start some conversations.
We recently released a feature that turns users who download your template into leads. When a user downloads your template, you'll receive a notification of the user and company name, and what template they selected. Someone who liked your perspective might be a lead for you to apply Databox and any other services that you offer to their company in the same way. This could be a direct link to potential customers who are interested in tracking their own marketing in a similar way, and using your company to help them improve performance. Our top template publisher has received over 250 leads from his templates.
What do templates look like?
All of the information that we gather when you submit a template is used to paint a comprehensive picture of how to use the template to make smarter. In the image below, you will see where the information provided for each of the numbered form fields is published.
What information is most helpful?
Here is what we have found after collecting 6 months of data from the template directory.
Title (Box 4)- This should be a combination of a data source and the metrics monitored. For example, if you share a template that analyzes HubSpot email metrics, you want to name the template "HubSpot Email Metrics". If you leave out HubSpot, you will not reach the right audience. If you leave out email metrics, visitors will need to read everything else and try to figure out a use case for the Template.
Description (Box 8)- The description should start with "This dashboard..." or "The (title without connector) dashboard..." For example, if the title of the Databoard is "HubSpot Advanced Email Metrics", it could start "The Advanced Email Metrics dashboard..." This is for SEO purposes so that the word 'dashboard' appears on the page. The remainder should provide a high-level overview of the things that a user can accomplish with this template.
Real-World Success (Box 9)- The left detail pane focuses around value to the user. How will your marketing or other KPIs improve if you download this template? What insights will you gain? It should be moderately technical- include the KPIs that will improve, but not the terminology from the actual data source.
Metrics Pulled (Box 7)- This should list the precise metrics from the data source, ranked either left-to-right from the Databoard or in order of importance. This is the reference the user reviews if they want to know where the data comes from.
